Great news last week: the batteries were picked up from SolarToday Franchise Zwolle and delivered to the school in Ukraine.
The complete set of delivered equipment includes 12 Jinko Solar batteries with a total capacity of 42 kWh, two 20 W inverters, and two BMS modules with the battery base. The entire Lichtar team hopes that this equipment will enable the school to keep the shelter and main part of the building operational during blackout periods. This will help the school get through the upcoming winter without significant gaps in lessons and ensure appropriate protection of the pupils during Russian missile attacks.
Below, you will find a photo report on how the equipment was delivered, what the school and shelter look like, and how life continues in the school when air raid alarms are announced.
Please also be aware that the main part of the fundraising has already been completed, which allowed us to buy and deliver the equipment. However, we still need some funds for the equipment installation, and we appreciate any further support.
We are excited to share some great news regarding our Kyiv School Shelter project. After further negotiations, the supplier has provided us with an even better offer than we expected. This allows us to increase the system’s capacity while reducing overall costs.
We are making a final call for contributions to purchase a crucial battery storage system for a school in Kyiv. We are currently €4,755 short of our €11,880 goal, with a deadline to secure the system by the end of August. This will ensure reliable power for the school year starting in September.
Updated Plan:
Battery sets with a total capacity of 42.6 kWh for EUR 9,112.41
Including an allowance for delivery to Kyiv and installation costs, the total is EUR 11,880
With EUR 7,125 already raised, we only need to raise an additional EUR 4,755 to reach our goal.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Each contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to making this project a reality.
Please consider sharing this initiative with your personal and business contacts to help us reach our target. Together, we can ensure that the children in Kyiv have the reliable power they need to continue their education safely.
We’re proud to announce the launch of the LICHTAR foundation, a charity fund dedicated to restoring and rebuilding Ukraine’s energy sector during and after the war. Thanks to our founding members KPD Consulting, Werner Wirth, TrainingsManufaktur Dreiklang, and EEPro for their dedication and support! “Lichtar” signifies “lantern” in Ukrainian and “light” in German, embodying our mission to illuminate hope and progress, paving the way for a brighter tomorrow in Ukraine. While we are focusing on the energy and infrastructure sector, it goes without saying that we are excited to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations from all other business areas. We will announce our first concrete project ideas in the nearest future and hope for active participation in fundraising then. I am always available for questions, project ideas or membership requests in the meantime.
